What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Tuesday July 14, crews will implement a traffic configuration change at Eglinton Avenue West and Keele Street/Trethewey Drive. The work zone will remain on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West, and vehicular traffic will remain on the north side. The north, and south pedestrian crosswalks, will remain open. The east crosswalk will reopen, and the west crosswalk will close. The sidewalk in front of York Memorial CI will remain closed due to ongoing fire investigations. Access to businesses will be maintained. There will be no impacts to TTC bus service. This configuration will remain in place for approximately three (3) months. The traffic flip will start at 9:00am and will take approximately seven (7) hours to implement. Please allow extra time for your journey.

  • Work may be extended due to weather or unforeseen circumstances
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion

What to Expect

  • Expect delays when travelling through the area while the change is implemented

Pedestrian Details

  • The west pedestrian crosswalk will be closed
  • The east pedestrian crosswalk will reopen
  • The sidewalk in front of York Memorial CI will remain closed
  • The north and south pedestrian crosswalk will remain open

Traffic Details

  • Left turns will continue to be restricted for traffic travelling northbound
  • All turns will be permitted for traffic travelling southbound
  • All turns will continue to be restricted for east and westbound vehicular traffic

Transit Information

  • No impacts to TTC bus routes

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
