What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Monday, February 27, 2023, crews at Avenue Station will begin traffic signal installations at Lascelles Boulevard and Eglinton Avenue. Rolling lane closures are required to safely complete this work. Periodically, traffic on Eglinton Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction east of Lascelles Boulevard, and traffic on Lascelles Boulevard will be reduced to one lane only. This work will take approximately one (1) month to complete.
What to Expect
Removal of the existing traffic signals and installation of temporary traffic signals. Upon completion of the works, new traffic signals will be installed. Construction activities will include electrical and concrete works. Work zones will be in place at the south-west and south-east corners of the intersection. Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place. Expect delays while traveling through the intersection.
HOURS OF WORK
• As early as Monday, February 27, 2023, for approximately one (1) month.
• Construction activities are expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Lane closures are not expected to take place daily, only when required.
• Overnight work may be required to facilitate utility works.
• Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
TRAFFIC DETAILS
• Periodically, traffic on Eglinton Avenue will be reduced to one lane in each direction east of Lascelles Boulevard.
• Periodically, Lascelles Boulevard will be reduced to one lane only with traffic alternating in each direction.
PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
• Temporary pedestrian rerouting may be required at the Lascelles-Eglinton intersection during this work.
TRANSIT INFORMATION
• Access to TTC will be maintained at all times.
