What Work is Taking Place?

As early as April 14, 2020, crews will begin to remove a grouping of trees located on Metrolinx property in the GO corridor at Kennedy Station, behind 138 & 140 Benjamin Boulevard. The trees will be removed in support of the final design of the west platform at Kennedy Station.

Tree protection measures will be in effect, and environmental personnel will be on site to ensure tree removal and protection work is carried out in accordance with regulatory requirements.

 Hours of Work

Starting as early as April 14, 2020 for approximately one (1) week.

Work is expected to occur from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours but may do so at its discretion.

Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

 

What to Expect

Removal of trees at the GO corridor for west platform construction.

Residents and businesses nearby can anticipate noise from chainsaws and woodchippers for the removal of trees.

In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.

 

Traffic and Pedestrian Impacts

There will be no impacts to the current traffic configuration on Eglinton Avenue East.
