What Work is Taking Place?

In 2019, crews have conducted a series of closures of Berwick Avenue between Duplex Avenue and Yonge Street to perform supporting construction activities for TTC’s Line 1 Subway Facility Services Building.  Due to the location of the new building, the work can only be carried out safely while the subway is not in operation.

The next closure is scheduled for Saturday October 19th.  The north lane and sidewalk on Hilldale Ave Bridge, located between Yonge Street and Duplex Avenue, will be closed for material storage from October 19 – 20, 2019, while this work takes place.  As part of the work, the existing concourse-level escalator in TTC’s Line 1 Eglinton Station will be closed for construction for an extended period.

Please note that this work is subject to cancellation.  If cancelled, the road closure will not be required, and affected properties will be notified.  TTC closures may go ahead even in the event of the road closure cancellation.
