What Work is Taking Place?

As early as Thursday July 16, 2020, crews will perform a concrete pour within the work zone on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West at Oakwood Avenue. The concrete will form one of the permanent structures within the Main Entrance of Oakwood Station.

To safely carry out the works, Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane in each direction, while the pour takes place. To ensure the integrity and continuity of the pour, work will begin as early as 6:00 a.m. and take approximately fourteen (14) hours to complete.

  • As early as Thursday July 16, 2020
  • The pour will begin at 6:00 a.m. and take approximately fourteen (14) hours to complete
  • Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

What to Expect

  • Expect delays while travelling through the intersection
  • 4+ concrete trucks are expected per hour
  • Noise from construction equipment can be expected
  • Staging of concrete trucks within the work zone on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

  • Eglinton Avenue West will be reduced to one lane in each direction while the pour takes place
  • Times Road will remain closed during the pour
  • Traffic control personnel and/or a paid duty officer will be present while this work takes place
  • All pedestrian routes are expected to remain the same

Travelling Smart during Construction

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
