October 17, 2019

Starting October 23, 2019, a series of temporary driveway closures will be in effect between Birchmount Road and Rosemount Drive to facilitate pavement reconstruction and road widening of Eglinton Avenue East, as part of the construction of Birchmount Stop. Eglinton-facing driveways at the following locations will be closed for approximately three (3) weeks while the work takes place:

835 Birchmount Road

2223, 2225, 2231, 2233, 2243, 2239 and 2245 Eglinton Avenue East

Birchmount Rd driveway access will be maintained.

In addition, the south sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East between Birchmount Rd and Rosemount Drive will be closed, pedestrians will be rerouted around the north side of the work zone.

CTS will communicate with each property owner in advance of the driveway closure.

 

 

Hours of Work

Starting as early as October 23, 2019 for approximately three (3) weeks.

This work may take place between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

The contractor may not always work during these hours, but may do so at its discretion. 

Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

 

What to Expect

Eglinton-facing driveways listed above will be closed; property access from Birchmount Rd will be maintained.

Emergency services access will be maintained. 

Noise from construction activity can be expected

Construction equipment and material will be present

 

Traffic and Pedestrian Details

The south sidewalk on Eglinton Ave E between Birchmount Rd and Rosemount Dr will be closed.

Pedestrians will be rerouted around the north side of the work zone.

The sidewalk at the northwest corner of Rosemount will be closed.

Eglinton Ave E will be reduced to two eastbound lanes and one westbound lane

Pedestrians and road users can expect delays when traveling through work zone.
