In mid-July 2018, the area around Eglinton West Subway Station (Cedarvale) will see another round of traffic changes.  Work zones will move to the north side of Eglinton Avenue. The Allen Road exit ramp will be realigned, pedestrians will no longer be able to access the subway from the north side of Eglinton Avenue and active traffic lanes will shift south.

 Hours of Work

  • Transition to take place from Friday, July 13, 11 p.m. to Monday, July 16, 5 a.m.
  • This stage of work will last for approximately 6-8 months.
  • Shoring work can be expected between the hours of 7 a.m. and 11 p.m., 7 days a week. (Work outside these hours may be required for other construction activities. This information will be communicated separately.)
  • Work may be delayed due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Phase II: North Station Box - West Side of Allen Road

  • Supporting the excavation of the new Eglinton LRT Main Entrance requires the Allen Road South exit ramp to be realigned 20 meters to the west of its current position.
  • The work zone currently situated at the corner of the police parking lot at Everden Road will remain in place.

What to Expect

  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by a pile drill, crane, loaders, trucks and other construction equipment, as well as dust from drilling activity and debris removal.
  • Heavy truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone.
  • There will be noise and vibration associated with shoring activities.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones
