During this final stage, crews will continue to install secant piles and continue excavating the shaft so the tunnel boring machines (TBMs) can be extracted in early 2017.

Why: The extraction shaft must be completed in order to remove the tunnel boring machines from the ground.

When: Starting as early as the beginning of August, crews will occupy the roadway on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East, until early 2017 when the TBMs will be extracted. Some work may be rescheduled or adjusted due to weather conditions and unforeseen circumstances.
