What Work is Taking Place?

Deep excavation has been underway at Mount Pleasant Station since February 2020.  Crews are currently excavating the station box beneath Eglinton Avenue. Soil is being removed through the Secondary Entrance located on the north side of Eglinton Avenue, between Mount Pleasant Road and Rawlinson Avenue. At the beginning of June, crews started to demolish the tunnels beneath Eglinton Avenue to make way for construction of the station underground.

On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, crews will work overnight to remove and haul the broken tunnel segments from the station box. Using a crane, the concrete tunnel encasement will be loaded onto a truck and hauled from the Main Entrance to an off-site facility.
