What Work is Taking Place?

Mining excavation works continue at the secondary entrance of Avenue Station, with crews operating between Eastbourne Avenue and Lascelles Boulevard. As part of these works, crews are required to break away the temporary inner walls of the cavern, to finalize the station structure.

Inner wall demolition resumed on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 and is expected to continue through to Wednesday, May 6, 2020.  To ensure the structural integrity of the cavern, crews are required to work on a 24-hour basis. Periodic chipping and removal of concrete can be expected, while this work takes place.

During these works, nearby properties may experience noise and/or vibration. Crews will endeavor to complete these works during the day, however due to the sequence nature of the work, occasional overnight work may be required. If you experience disruption from mining activities, please call our 24/7 phone line at 416-782-8118.

Hours of Work

  • Ongoing for approximately three (3) days.
  • Work will take place on a 24-hour basis.
  • Work may be delayed or rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
