Update: Extension of the Times Road Closure at Eglinton Avenue West - July 31-Sept 30, 2020

What Work is Taking Place?

From Friday July 31, 2020, the closure of Times Road at Eglinton Avenue West will continue for approximately two (2) more months, until September 30, 2020, to provide space for work associated with ongoing construction of the Oakwood Station Main Entrance site. The closure will be in place 24-hours a day, seven (7) days a week.

Times Road will remain closed between Eglinton Avenue West and the laneway to the north. Times Road has been converted to a two-way street between the laneway and Livingstone Avenue for the duration of the closure. To allow for two-way traffic, parking on Times Road between the laneway and Livingstone Avenue will remain prohibited during the closure. Access to the laneway will be maintained. 

Pedestrian access to Eglinton Avenue West will be maintained from the west sidewalk on Times Road. There will be no access to the east sidewalk on Times Road for the duration of the closure.

What to Expect

There will be no vehicle access to Eglinton Ave West from Times Road during the closure. Times Road will be used for equipment and material storage. Noise from construction activity and site lighting can be expected. 

HOURS OF WORK

• Times Road will remain closed at Eglinton Avenue West from Friday, July 31, 2020 for approximately two (2) more months
• The closure will be in place 24-hours a day, seven days a week
• The closure may be in place longer or shorter than expected
• Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• Pedestrian access to Eglinton Avenue West will be maintained from the west sidewalk on Times Road
• There will be no access to the east sidewalk on Times Road for the duration of the closure

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Times Rd will remain closed between Eglinton Ave W and the laneway to the north
• Times Rd will remain converted to two-way traffic between the laneway and Livingstone Ave
• Parking on Times Rd between the laneway and Livingstone Ave will remain prohibited during the closure
• Access to the laneway will be maintained
• Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
• Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
