What Work is Taking Place?

  • Crews will be conducting ongoing preparatory work that requires short-term temporary work zones along Eglinton Avenue East, Kennedy Road, Transway Crescent, and the North and South Service Roads.
  • Crews will drill boreholes in the roadway and boulevards to determine the existing condition of asphalt, soil and rocks.

Timing

  • Geotechnical work will last for approximately eight (8) weeks and is expected to start in late March 2017.
  • Work may occur between 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. seven days a week.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

What to Expect

  • Work will be conducted within sidewalks, boulevards and the roadway along the Eglinton Avenue East and Kennedy Road corridor, in the vicinity of Kennedy Station, and on Transway Crescent and the North and South Service Roads.
  • Short term lane closures and pedestrian detour may be necessary around each work zone.
  • The work zone will shift as crews will move equipment and trucks from one borehole location to the next.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect to hear noise related to road coring, drilling, hydro-vacuuming, and the use of heavy equipment.
  • Relocation and re-routing of bus stops is done in consultation between TTC and Metrolinx to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impacts on the community and customers. Please look for signage informing passengers of the new temporary stop location.
  • As always, please take care when travelling near work sites.
