On October 26, 2021, crews started preforming storm and sanitary sewer installations along Hollis St. A summary of the required construction activities is listed below.To facilitate this work, Hollis Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic, including resident vehicles, for approximately three (3) months. Access for Emergency Service vehicles will be maintained. Access to parking lots from Hollis Street will also be closed. The south sidewalk on Hollis Street will be closed for the duration of this work, affected residents have been notified and property access will be maintained with steel plates. The north sidewalk on Hollis Street will be maintained.


What to Expect

Noise and vibration from construction equipment, including hydro-vacuum trucks, excavators, and rollers can be expected. Water shut-offs can be expected (affected properties will be notified in advance). Tree stump removal may be required in the vicinity of the Hollis Street noise wall.

Excavation sites, fencing, signage, equipment, and material storage will be present along Hollis Street. Some overnight work will be required. Expect delays while travelling through the area

 

HOURS OF WORK 

  • As early as Tuesday October 26, 2021, for approximately three (3) months.
  • This work is expected to take place between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Monday – Friday.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and/or unforeseen circumstances.

 

TRAFFIC DETAILS 

  • Hollis Street will be closed to vehicular traffic for the duration of this work.
  • Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained.

 

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS 

  • The south sidewalk on Hollis Street will be closed for the duration of this work, affected residents have been notified and property access will be maintained with steel plates.
  • The north sidewalk on Hollis Street will be maintained.

 

TRANSIT INFORMATION 

  • No changes to TTC routes are expected, as a result of this work.
