What work is Taking Place?

Crews will perform maintenance on the dewatering wells for Cross Passage 11.  Dewatering wells are required for cross passage construction to ensure that the water table remains low enough to allow for hand mining work to be completed.

Hours of Work

  • Maintenance work is expected to begin on Tuesday, December 13 and will continue for approximately one week.
  • The work is expected to occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., up to seven (7) days a week.  Permitted hours for tunnelling and related works are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The contractor will not always work during the extended hours, but may do so at its discretion.
