What Work is Taking Place?

Crews continue with constructing final sidewalks at the four corners of the Eglinton Ave E and Warden Ave intersection. Work on the east side of the intersection is has begun and will continue for approximately one week. Sidewalk construction will also continue along the north side of Eglinton Ave E, beginning as early as Wednesday December 9. The driveway at 1972 Eglinton Ave E will be closed for the duration of this work.

 

What to Expect

A change to the traffic configuration will be implemented. Activities will include concrete removals, excavation, backfill and concrete works to form the new sidewalks.  Noise from construction equipment and crews can be expected.

 

HOURS OF WORK

  • Work on the east side of the intersection will begin as early as December 7, 2020 for a period of one week.
  • Work will be performed between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances

 

TRAFFIC DETAILS

  • All turn movements will be maintained at the intersection.
  • Closure of one eastbound and westbound lane at the intersection.
  • Closure of one northbound lane at the intersection for construction activities on the east side of the intersection.
  • A driveway closure will be implemented west of 1972 Eglinton Avenue East. Access to the shopping plaza and offices will be maintained via alternate driveways.

 

PEDESTRIAN INFORMATION

  • The west crosswalk will remain closed for the duration of these works.
