What Work is Taking Place?

On Tuesday April 21, 2020, a mobile crane will be mobilized to the Chaplin Station Main Entrance site.  The crane will travel north on Chaplin Crescent to Spadina Road, turn onto New Haven Drive and continue south on Gilgorm Road.  The crane will be used for deep excavation activities at the Main Entrance. On Wednesday April 22, 2020 the crane will be removed from the site following the same route. To provide adequate space, parking on New Haven Drive will be prohibited from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on both days. Additionally, Eglinton Avenue will be reduced to one lane only between Chaplin Crescent and Latimer Avenue from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 21 and Wednesday April 22, 2020 to facilitate hoisting of equipment.

 

Hours of Work

  • The crane will be delivered to the site on Tuesday April 21, 2020 between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • The crane will be removed from the site on Wednesday April 22, 2020 between 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Work may be rescheduled, or be longer or shorter than expected

  • Temporary parking prohibitions will be in effect

Traffic and Pedestrian Details

  • On-street parking on New Haven Dr will be prohibited from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.on Tuesday April, 21 and Wednesday April 22, 2020
  • Eglinton Ave will be reduced to one lane only between Chaplin Cres and Latimer Ave from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 21 and Wednesday April 22, 2020
  • Traffic control personnel will be present alternating traffic in each direction
  • Motorists can expect delays when travelling through the area

 

Travelling Smart during Construction

  • Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
