REVISED POSTING WITH NEW DATES

Over October 1 and 2, the traffic conditions at Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East will change. Please review the changes to lane configurations and turn restrictions on the map below.

The new temporary traffic signals are now operating at Bayview Avenue and Roehampton Avenue.


TRAFFIC AND PEDESTRIAN IMPACTS

  • There will be no left or right turns allowed for southbound traffic at Bayview Avenue to Eglinton Avenue.
  • There will be no left turns allowed for westbound traffic.
  • There will be no left turns allowed for northbound traffic.
  • Right turns for northbound, westbound and eastbound traffic are restricted on a red light.
  • There will continue to be one lane of eastbound traffic with no turn restrictions.
  • One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained.
  • There are no dedicated turn lanes during this stage.
  • The north-south crosswalk on the west side of Bayview Avenue will be closed.
  • The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue between mid-block Bruce Park Avenue and Bayview Avenue will remain closed.
  • The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue between Bayview Avenue and Sunnybrook Plaza will also remain closed.

TTC IMPACTS

  • The northbound TTC stop will move back to its original location closer to Sunnybrook Plaza.
  • The southbound TTC stop will remain north of Roehampton Avenue.
  • All other TTC stops will remain in their current location.

TIMING

  • Permitted hours are 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., seven (7) days per week.
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion.
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • This work will continue for the remainder of 2018. There will be a number of changes to the traffic and pedestrian routes over the next 4-5 months.
  • Occasional overnight work may be required. Metrolinx will notify the public in advance and monitor activities throughout.
  • Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by a pile drill, hydrovac trucks, loaders, trucks and other construction equipment.
  • In addition to construction activity, residents can expect to see equipment and material storage within designated work zones.
  • For safety purposes, fencing will be erected around the work zone.
  • All access to businesses is maintained throughout the stages.

  • Travel delays are expected with construction. Please allow extra time for your journey.
  • Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Eglinton Crosstown LRT construction.
