What Work Is Taking Place?

Unplanned repair work is currently underway at Laird Station.

A water shut-off is required to carry-out the work. Properties in the vicinity of Eglinton Avenue East between Sutherland Drive and Laird Drive may be affected by the water shut-off. Estimated water restoration time is by Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 7:00 a.m.

In addition, for safety reasons, the south sidewalk and two (2) eastbound lanes on Eglinton Avenue East in front of the Main Entrance have been temporarily closed.

Water Shut-off Details

Starting: Monday May 28 at 1:00 p.m. (overnight)
Estimated Completion: Wednesday, May 30th at 7:00 a.m.
Affected Properties: Properties on Eglinton Avenue East between Sutherland Drive and Laird Drive
Note: The duration of the utility interruption may be longer or shorter than expected.

Hours of Work

  • Repair work will continue through to approximately Wednesday, May 30, 2018.

Traffic and Pedestrian Details

  • Two (2) eastbound lanes on Eglinton Avenue East in front of the Laird Station Main Entrance will be temporarily closed.
  • Traffic moving both eastbound and westbound will share the westbound lanes during this duration.

  • Expect significant delays as you travel through the area.
  • The south sidewalk on Eglinton Avenue East in front of the Main Entrance will be temporarily closed.
  • Traffic at Eglinton Avenue East and Laird Drive will be managed by a Paid Duty Officer and flag persons.
  • Access to TTC stops may be affected.

TTC Details

  • Relocation and re-routing of bus stops and buses respectively, is done in consultation with TTC to ensure construction can continue safely while minimizing impact on the community and customers.
