UPDATED: Rawlinson Avenue Reopens at Eglinton Avenue East - Late-March 2023

What Work is Taking Place?

In approximately late-March 2023, Rawlinson Avenue will reopen at Eglinton Avenue East. To facilitate the reopening of the road, crews will be required to place a crane at Eglinton Avenue East and Rawlinson Avenue to lift and load the site trailers onto a flat bed truck. Removal of the site trailers is expected to take place on Wednesday March 22, 2023, for approximately one (1) day. Temporary lane closures on Eglinton Avenue East at Rawlinson Avenue will be required to safely facilitate this work. Following the removal of the trailers, restoration works will take place on Rawlinson Avenue for approximately one (1) week. Upon completion of the restoration works, Rawlinson Avenue will open and all traffic lanes and turns will be reinstated at the Rawlinson-Eglinton intersection (refer to map above).

What to Expect

Use of a construction waste bin, crane and flatbed truck. Temporary traffic lane closures on Eglinton Avenue East at Rawlinson Avenue. Traffic control personnel and/or a Paid Duty Officer will be present, while this work takes place. Access to Eglinton Avenue East from Rawlinson Avenue will be reinstated upon completion of the restoration works. Noise from relocation of fencing, equipment, and materials can be expected during this work.

HOURS OF WORK

• Rawlinson Avenue is expected to open in late March 2023.

• As early as Wednesday March 22, 2023, the site trailers will be removed from Rawlinson Avenue with a crane.

• Following the removal of the trailers, restoration works will take place on Rawlinson Avenue for approximately one (1) week.

• This work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.

TRAFFIC DETAILS

• Temporary lane closures on Eglinton Avenue East will be required while the site trailers are being removed.

• One westbound lane along Eglinton Avenue East will remain open during the construction period.

• Rawlinson Avenue will open at Eglinton Avenue East upon completion of the restoration works.

• All traffic lanes and turns at the Rawlinson-Eglinton intersection will be reinstated.

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS

• Temporary pedestrian rerouting will be in place while the site trailers are being lifted; crew will direct pedestrians around the work area.

• No significant changes to the pedestrian routes are expected as a result of this work.

TRANSIT INFORMATION
