What Work is Taking Place?

Over the next two weeks, crews at Fairbank will perform a series of large concrete pour within the station box. Concrete pours will take place on Thursday July 9, Friday July 10, Wednesday July 15, and Friday July 17. Work will begin as early as 6:00 a.m. and each pour will be ongoing for approximately 12 hours. Concrete pumps will be placed within the main entrance work zone in the southeast corner of the intersection. Concrete trucks will be staged on Dufferin St, south of Eglinton Avenue West. The laneway parallel to Eglinton Avenue West, between Dynevor Rd and Dufferin St, will remain open. Dufferin St and Eglinton Avenue West will remain open while work takes place.

Hours of Work

  • Thursday July 9, Friday July 10, Wednesday July 15, and Friday July 17
  • The concrete pour will begin as early as 6:00 a.m. and last for approximately 12 hours
  • The contractor may not always work during the permitted hours, but may do so at its discretion
  • Work may be rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances
  • This work may be longer or shorter than expected

What to Expect

  • Concrete trucks will be staged on Dufferin St, south of Eglinton Avenue West
  • Noise from concrete trucks can be expected
  • Local and pedestrian access will be maintained
  • Property access will be maintained
  • Expect delays while travelling near work zones

Traffic & Pedestrian Details

  • The pedestrian routes at the intersection will remain the same
  • Access to properties along Vaughan Rd, Eglinton Ave W and Dufferin St will be maintained

Transit Information

  • No impacts to TTC bus service

Travelling Smart during Construction 

Travel delays are expected with the Crosstown construction. Please allow extra time for your journey. Traffic will be extra heavy at peak periods during the Crosstown construction. When possible, please travel during the off-peak period between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
