What Work is Taking Place?

In late October, crews began overnight utilities relocation in the vicinity of Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue West to make way for support of excavation (shoring) activities on the north and south sides of Eglinton Avenue West.

Overnight utilities relocation, including telecommunication and wet utilities work as well as installation of geotechnical monitoring equipment will continue over the course of the next week.  This work requires additional short-term lane occupancy on Eglinton Avenue and Dufferin Street.

To minimize the impact to traffic, this work will take place overnight. Traffic on Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street will be reduced to one lane only while this work takes place.

  • Overnight between 7:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
  • Work is scheduled to occur on March 14, 15, 16, 19 & 20, 2018 (weather permitting)

What to Expect

  • Lane reductions on Eglinton Avenue West and Dufferin Street will be required
  • Noise from construction activity as well as site lighting can be expected
  • Pedestrians and vehicle traffic can expect delays when traveling through the intersection
