What Work is Taking Place?
As part of continued construction and traffic staging set up from Black Creek Drive to Bicknell Avenue on Eglinton Avenue West for the West LRT Portal and Elevated Guideway traffic restrictions in this area are changing.
The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West from Black Creek Drive to Bicknell Avenue/Municipal Drive will be closed to allow crews to compact the ground in front of 2699 Eglinton Avenue West in preparation for the reconfiguration of the traffic lanes. This work is expected to begin on May 25, 2018 will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
Hours of Work
- As early as May 25, 2018 crews will install temporary traffic lights at the intersection of Bicknell Avenue/Municipal Driver and Eglinton Avenue West
- Crews will also be demolishing the sidewalk on the south side west of Bicknell Avenue.
- Work will occur between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.
- In this process of this work trees in and around the intersection will be pruned in order to accommodate the temporary traffic lights installation.
- Work may be rescheduled due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
What to Expect
- Nearby residents and businesses can expect noise in the area caused by trucks and other construction equipment, as well as dust from drilling activity and debris removal.
- Heavy truck traffic entering and exiting the work zone.
- There will be noise and vibration associated with these activities.
- Access to 2699 Eglinton Avenue West driveway will be maintained at all times.
Pedestrian Details
- The sidewalk on the south side of Eglinton Avenue West from Keelesdale Park Drive to Bicknell Avenue will be closed.
- The sidewalk on the north side of Eglinton Avenue West from Keelesdale Park Drive to Municipal Drive will remain open.
- Pedestrian access to 2699 Eglinton Avenue West will remain open.
