What Work is Taking Place?

The Wynford Drive Bridge will be rehabilitated as part of the construction of the Eglinton Crosstown LRT. Bridge deck replacement and associated works will be performed to accommodate utility upgrades and the new LRT tracks in the center of Eglinton Avenue East.

Preparatory work for the bridge rehabilitation includes the relocation of the pedestrian staircase on the north side of Eglinton Avenue East up to three (3) metres north of its current location. The stairs will be closed during the relocation.

In order to conduct the work safely, two sidewalks will be closed for the duration of the work on the north side of the bridge (details below). Pedestrians can use the south staircase on Wynford Drive to access Eglinton Avenue East during the relocation. The westbound bus stop at Wynford Drive will be closed for one day.

Work is scheduled to begin as early as July 6, 2018 and will take approximately one day to complete. Temporary stairs will be in place for the duration of the bridge works on the north side, approximately three (3) months.
