The vehicles used on The Crosstown will feature accessible, low floors and all stations will have main entrances with elevators and escalators for passenger accessibility.
Taking first steps to building the Crosstown’s stations and stops
On April 11, 2016, a crew began to excavate the main entrance to the future Keelesdale Station using a large drilling equipment. This is the first step in the Eglinton Crosstown’s Stations and Stops construction.
For the Keelesdale Station, an area the size of the station’s footprint (about 130m x 20 m) is cut, a shallow area excavated; steel piles, braces and tie-backs are installed around the sides to support the safe excavation for the future Keelsdale Station. This construction work is expected to last up to 12 months.
This is the first of many major milestones and achievements to come as we transform Eglinton Avenue.
