What Work is Taking Place?
Installation of the newly relocated tower crane is underway at the south-east corner of Oakwood Station's Main Entrance. In late October 2020, crews will begin using the tower crane to facilitate hoisting activities, including lifting equipment and materials in-and-out of the Main Entrance shaft. The tower crane will remain in use through late July 2021.
To ensure the safety of motorists and pedestrians, traffic control personnel will be present while the tower crane is lifting live loads. During these activities, motorists and pedestrians may experience intermittent traffic and sidewalk interruptions.
What to Expect
Use of the tower crane is required to lift materials and equipment into place. Short-term traffic interruptions can be expected, while the crane is lifting live loads. Expect delays while travelling through the intersection. Noise from construction activities, including crane movements and material loading, can be expected.
